Singles, doubles and ranked: what to check before team building
Official-source guide · Reviewed
The short answer
Battle mode and battle format are separate choices. Ranked, casual and private battles describe the mode; singles and doubles describe the format.
Choose the purpose and the format
All three modes offer singles and doubles. Ranked results affect rank and can award VP. For practice or a planned match with a friend, consider casual or private battles.
Recheck the regulation
Seasons settle rankings and rewards; regulations periodically change eligibility and other conditions. HOME compatibility, game support and current battle eligibility are different checks.
Our preparation order
Record the mode, format, regulation and dates first. Then check team members, items and moves before spending on training. This is our preparation checklist, not a tested tier list.
Before you act
- Record singles or doubles.
- Check the regulation and its end time.
- Validate the team before investing resources.
Scope of this guide
Based on the official pages and support documents linked below. No phone datamines or battle testing are included. Our suggestions are distinguished from official rules. Check in-game information for current eligibility, costs, seasons and claim periods.
